Ukrainian drone and artillery attacks killed at least nine people across Russia on Sunday, the 1,620th day of the conflict, after overnight strikes targeted energy infrastructure and warehouses. The barrage reached deep into Russian territory, with a drone strike on a car in Udmurtia, more than 1,000 kilometres from the front line, killing three and wounding two, including a child.
In Belgorod, rockets struck a farm, killing three men and wounding three others, while a separate strike killed four, including a 13-year-old girl near a playground. Two people were killed by drones in Saratov, the region's governor said. A Wildberries warehouse in Novosemejkino, 800 km from the front, was also hit — the online retailer has been struck over ten times in two weeks.
Russia said it shot down 635 Ukrainian drones overnight. Russian strikes killed five in Ukraine, hitting Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and a postal terminal in Kharkiv. US-led peace talks have been frozen since February.
