Ukraine has struck two of Russia's largest oil refineries in a fresh wave of long-range drone attacks, after overnight strikes on energy targets in Belgorod and Rostov. The Security Service of Ukraine said it hit the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery in Perm overnight Tuesday, igniting a fire at a primary oil processing unit at the facility, which has an annual capacity of nearly 13 million tonnes.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed strikes on a refinery and logistics centre in Ryazan, where a blaze erupted at the 17-million-tonne-capacity plant located about 400 kilometres from Ukraine. Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said six people were hospitalised. Reuters reported the Ryazan refinery could be shut for up to two weeks. Zelenskyy also cited hits on an export terminal, a military enterprise in Rostov, and a Black Sea Fleet naval base in occupied Crimea.
Russia's Defence Ministry said air defences shot down 295 Ukrainian drones overnight. Russian attacks killed a 67-year-old in Kherson and wounded 11 in the Kharkiv region.
