Russia fired ballistic missiles at Kyiv in the early hours of Saturday, wounding at least six people and damaging several buildings in what is the latest in a series of heavy bombardments targeting the Ukrainian capital.
At least five explosions were heard before air-raid sirens sounded, and Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, confirmed on Telegram that Russia was attacking with missiles. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said three of the six wounded were hospitalised, and a three-storey office building was struck and caught fire.
The strike follows an unprecedented bombardment on the night of 1–2 July that killed thirty people and comes a day after Ukrainian drones hit oil infrastructure and the port of Taganrog in Russia.
