FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Spain forward Ferran Torres, with the deal valued at nearly 50 million euros and no add-ons included.
Torres, 26, has been excused from Barcelona training to finalise the move and is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Parisian club. The forward informed Barcelona last week of his desire to leave with one year remaining on his contract.
Torres departs after four seasons at Barcelona, where he scored 65 goals in 207 appearances and won three league titles, three Spanish Super Cups, and a Copa del Rey. He most recently scored the extra-time winner against Argentina to help Spain claim their second World Cup this summer. PSG play Aston Villa in the Super Cup final on Wednesday night in Salzburg.
