Liverpool have opened preliminary discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential transfer for winger Bradley Barcola, though a significant gap in valuation between the clubs threatens to derail the move. PSG are standing firm on a £145 million asking price, while Liverpool are preparing an opening offer around €115 million (£98.5m) that is expected to be rejected.
Barcola, who scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 49 appearances last season, is under contract until 2028 but has informed PSG he will not sign an extension. Liverpool are closer to agreeing personal terms with the French international, who scored three times at the World Cup in North America.
Arsenal could look to hijack the move after missing out on Vinicius Junior, though the Gunners have reservations about meeting PSG's demands. PSG have already offloaded three forwards this summer and are reinforcing with new signings.
