Spanish musician Víctor Coyote dies at 68 in cycling accident

Víctor Coyote, the Spanish musician and founder of the band Los Coyotes, died on Thursday at the age of 68 following a bicycle accident in Segovia.

Born Víctor Aparicio in Tui, Pontevedra, in 1958, he launched his musical career in 1981 with Los Coyotes, becoming a fixture of the viguesa and Madrid music scenes. The band's discography included "Mujer y sentimiento" (1985) and "Las calaveras" (1988). In 1988, the group renamed itself Los Coyotes de Víctor Abundancia before disbanding permanently in 1992.

Coyote's death marks the loss of a prominent figure from Spain's post-Franco cultural movement.
