Paris Saint-Germain announced the signing of Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax Amsterdam on Saturday evening. Ajax will receive a base fee of €55 million, with performance-related bonuses potentially raising the total to €58 million. PSG had earlier seen a €45 million bid rejected by Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff.
The 21-year-old departs Amsterdam having scored 26 goals and provided 28 assists in 115 appearances for the club. His final campaign yielded 17 goals and 15 assists across 44 matches, following a breakout Eredivisie season in which he recorded 17 goals and 13 assists in 32 league fixtures under coach Francesco Farioli.
Godts originally joined Ajax from the KRC Genk academy as a 17-year-old for €1 million. He earned two caps for Belgium but was not selected by former national team coach Rudi Garcia, who has since been replaced by Mark van Bommel.
