Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for a fixed fee of around £34.3m (€40m). The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract with an option for a further year.
Diomande spent the last four seasons at the Lisbon club, making 132 appearances and scoring seven goals while winning consecutive Primeira Liga titles in 2023/24 and 2024/25. He also helped Sporting to a domestic double and a Champions League knockout-stage appearance in his final campaign. Internationally, he earned 15 caps for Ivory Coast and was part of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad.
Forest head coach Oliver Glasner personally drove the club's pursuit of Diomande after previously attempting to sign him at Crystal Palace. Sporting had set an asking price in the €40m–€45m range for the centre-back, who had extended his contract until 2030 in January.
