Chelsea have signed 19-year-old winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP in a deal worth approximately £40 million. The Portugal youth international has agreed to an eight-year contract running until 2034.
Quenda becomes the second signing under new manager Xabi Alonso, arriving shortly after the club's £42m acquisition of Atalanta full-back Marco Palestra. The deal was originally agreed in March 2025 during Enzo Maresca's tenure, with the winger having already spent recent days training at Chelsea's Cobham facility ahead of the squad's official return.
Quenda graduates from Sporting having represented the first team over two seasons, winning a league title and Portuguese Cup in 2024–25. He recorded six goals and nine assists last season. Separately, Manchester United have agreed a fee of up to £50 million with Chelsea for midfielder Andrey Santos.
