Newcastle United have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Sean Steur from Ajax on a five-year contract worth up to £23 million.
The 18-year-old, who can operate as a No 6 or No 8, made 25 senior appearances for Ajax last season after his first-team debut in December 2025. Steur ranked first among Eredivisie midfielders aged 18 or younger for chances created, total carries, and duel success during the campaign.
Steur is Newcastle's third signing of the summer, all aged 20 or under, following Bazoumana Touré and Ewen Jaouen. The acquisitions come as the club reinvests funds from major departures, with Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon leaving for a combined £169 million.
