Goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has completed his transfer from FC Bayern Munich to Besiktas Istanbul, ending a six-year spell at the German club during which he made only four competitive appearances. The move was announced on Tuesday.
Bayern will receive a fixed fee of 6.5 million euros, with add-ons potentially raising the total to as much as 12 million. Nübel, who earned around six million euros per season in Munich, will also receive a substantial severance payment from Bayern to facilitate the move. The agreement between the clubs was reached on Monday evening.
Nübel, signed in 2020, found his path blocked by incumbent Manuel Neuer, who remained the undisputed first choice. The 29-year-old has signed a contract with Besiktas running until 2029.
