Severe thunderstorms and cloudbursts swept across eastern Denmark on Sunday, prompting warnings from the Danish Meteorological Institute for heavy rain, hail, and strong wind gusts through the afternoon.
A line of intense showers formed over the Kattegat and moved southward into North Zealand by morning, with the first cloudburst recorded around 08:00 near Helsingør, where 16 to 17 millimetres of rain fell in just half an hour. The system is expected to push across much of Zealand and later reach Lolland and Falster, with storms also possible over Funen and eastern Jutland.
DMI meteorologist Thor Hartz said Jutland would largely stay dry, with only scattered lighter showers elsewhere. Temperatures across the country are forecast to range between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius.
