Wildcard Arthur Fery reaches Wimbledon semi-finals with straight-sets win over Cobolli

· Sports GBRFRADEUITA

Wildcard Arthur Fery has become only the second wildcard in Wimbledon history to reach the semi-finals, advancing to the final four at the All England Club for the first time. The world No. 114 defeated Flavio Cobolli, a French Open finalist, 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-0 in the quarter-finals on Thursday to secure his historic run.

Fery will face second seed and newly-crowned French Open champion Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals on Centre Court on Friday. The German has been in strong form this year, having recently captured the title at Roland Garros.

Fery's fairy-tale run at Wimbledon has captivated spectators, as the wildcard entry continues to defy expectations against higher-ranked opponents on his favoured surface.
