Coco Gauff recovered from a set down to defeat Jessica Pegula 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday, reaching her first Wimbledon semi-final and completing a career milestone across all four Grand Slam events. At 22, Gauff is the youngest player to reach the last four at every major since Maria Sharapova at the 2007 French Open.
The victory was particularly notable given Gauff entered the tournament on a four-match losing streak on grass and had not won on the surface in two years. The seventh seed and two-time major champion now holds the distinction of being the seventh active player to reach the semi-finals or better at all four majors, joining Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Karolina Pliskova, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek.
Karolina Muchova defeated Naomi Osaka 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to reach her first Wimbledon semi-final and will face Gauff for a place in the final.
