Sinner faces Djokovic in Wimbledon semifinal chase for 25th major

Defending champion Jannik Sinner meets Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon semifinal on Friday, a match carrying historic weight for a 39-year-old Djokovic pursuing a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title that would surpass Margaret Court's all-time mark.

The world number one Sinner, who has not dropped a set since the opening round, holds a narrow 6-5 head-to-head edge, though Djokovic won their most recent meeting in the Australian Open semifinal earlier this year. Djokovic arrives carrying a left calf injury sustained in his quarterfinal victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The match is scheduled second on Centre Court, following the other semifinal between Alexander Zverev and Arthur Fery. The winner will advance to face either Zverev or Fery in Sunday's final. Sinner claimed last year's title by defeating Carlos Alcaraz.
