The death toll from Ukrainian drone strikes on Wildberries logistics centres has risen to eight, the online retailer said, after a worker in Moscow region later died in hospital from injuries sustained in the attacks that began on the night of 18 July.
Eight people were killed and more than 80 wounded across facilities in Elektrostal and Kotovsk, with the strikes subsequently hitting distribution hubs in Kolesino and Domodedovo on 20 July. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the sites were used to supply sanctioned drone and navigation components for Russian military logistics. Legal experts noted warehouses are civilian objects unless repurposed for military use.
Wildberries founder Tatyana Kim, Russia's richest woman according to Forbes, pledged 2 million roubles to families of the deceased and 1 million roubles to the severely injured. Analysts estimated the company lost at least 7% of its logistics capacity, with seller losses potentially reaching 235 billion roubles.
