Two killed in separate overnight road crashes in Ireland

Two young men died in separate road collisions in Ireland early on Sunday, July 26, 2026, involving an e-scooter and a single-vehicle crash.

An unidentified male e-scooter rider was killed in a collision with a car on Kentstown Road in Navan, County Meath, at around 1:45 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, and a passenger in his 20s were uninjured.

Approximately two hours later, a male teenager died in a single-vehicle crash on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, near Thurles, County Tipperary, at about 3:45 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Waterford University Hospital for a postmortem examination. The road was closed for forensic collision investigation.
