A pedestrian in his 30s died after being struck by a van on the R693 near Arigan Bridge in Cooleshal, Freshford, Co Kilkenny, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage from anyone who was travelling on the R693 between Freshford and Kilkenny between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
