Tottenham complete Savinho signing from Manchester City in £85m deal

· Sports GBRBRA

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of winger Savinho from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £85 million, pushing the club's summer spending past £300 million.

Spurs will pay an initial £75 million for the 22-year-old Brazilian, with a further £10 million available in add-ons, and have assigned him the No 17 shirt. The sale represents a club record for Manchester City, surpassing Julian Alvarez's £82 million departure to Atletico Madrid in 2024. Savinho made just seven Premier League starts for City last term despite joining from Troyes in a £30.8 million deal in 2024.

The arrival follows heavy investment by head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who has also secured Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke for a combined £312 million, plus free acquisitions Marcos Senesi and Andrew Robertson and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. The club lost 3-0 to Brentford on the opening weekend and continues to pursue further reinforcements.
