Szoboszlai signs new Liverpool deal extending to 2031

Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool, committing his future to the club until summer 2031.

The Hungary midfielder joined from RB Leipzig for £60 million in 2023 and has since made 147 appearances, scoring 28 goals with 26 assists. He was instrumental in Liverpool's 2024/25 Premier League title triumph and named player of the year last season, having also helped secure the League Cup in 2024.

In other transfer activity, Aston Villa are close to a €45 million deal for Wolverhampton's João Gomes and approaching a club-record £52 million bid for Freiburg's Johan Manzambi. Leeds United have agreed a £34 million fee with Sassuolo for Tarik Muharemovic, while Coventry City have signed Aurele Amenda from Eintracht Frankfurt.
