One person has been designated a suspect following the massive wildfire in Krokstadelva, after more than 100 homes were destroyed in Norway's largest residential fire in over a century.
Police said they have no concrete suspicion a crime was committed and cannot yet confirm the fire's cause, though they believe they know where the blaze originated. The suspect has been questioned, and the national criminal investigation unit Kripos will assist with forensic analysis once the site is safe to enter. No one remains missing after the fire, which prompted the evacuation of more than 400 people.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is travelling to the area Wednesday to meet affected residents, volunteers, and local officials.
