Norway's Bane Nor failed to meet key safety requirements before a deadly quickslide killed a Danish construction worker at Levanger on August 30, 2025, the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority has concluded.
The collapse at Nesvatnet, which occurred during construction of a new passing loop on the Trønderbanen rail line, also destroyed a nearby motorway section. Inspectors found that quickslide risk in the area was known but insufficiently mapped or managed, and that the project was launched without adequate planning, risk assessment, or documentation.
The authority ordered subcontractor Fosso Entreprenør to draft written instructions for especially hazardous work, while Intrakraft was directed to establish a coordination responsibility agreement.
