A Russian attack on 19 July 2026 struck a UNICEF humanitarian warehouse in Bilohorodka, near Kyiv, destroying more than 106,000 relief items valued at roughly $3.9 million. Among the lost supplies were generators, drinking water, water storage tanks, and hygiene kits destined for civilians across Ukraine.
The strike comes amid a sharp escalation in child casualties. June 2026 was the deadliest month for children in Ukraine since 2022, with seven killed and 116 wounded. In the week preceding the warehouse attack, two more children were killed and over 50 injured in strikes across the country.
UNICEF has relied on the Bilohorodka facility to stage vital supplies for communities affected by the ongoing conflict. The loss of the stockpile is expected to hamper aid distribution in the coming weeks.
