Russian attacks killed at least 265 civilians and wounded 1,816 others across Ukraine in June 2026, marking the deadliest month since the first months of the full-scale invasion, according to preliminary United Nations figures. The toll surpassed the already elevated counts recorded in May, when casualties had risen 93 percent year-on-year. UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo warned that the upward trend in civilian harm appears to be continuing into July.
The UN human rights office has now verified at least 16,402 civilian deaths, including 802 children, and 48,428 injuries since the war began in February 2022.
Meanwhile, Russian authorities reported that 250 civilians were killed and 1,596 wounded inside Russia during the first half of 2026.
