Russian forces fired ballistic missiles at Kyiv overnight on 26 July 2026, striking the Ukrainian capital and igniting fires in at least three residential districts.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said debris from intercepted missiles fell on an 18-storey apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, triggering a blaze on the seventh and eighth floors. In the Desnianskyi district, a warehouse fire covering 150 square metres was extinguished along with 11 vehicles on an adjacent car park. The Solomianskyi district also saw a fire and partial destruction of a non-residential building, while a separate derelict four-storey structure in Shevchenkivskyi was set alight by a direct impact. No casualties have been reported.
