Former footballer Paul Scholes has been banned from driving for six months after magistrates convicted him of two separate motoring offences this week.
Scholes, 51, was sentenced at Bradford Magistrates' Court on 12 August to a six-month disqualification, a £220 fine, and associated costs after his Range Rover was recorded travelling at 37mph in a 30mph zone on the A649 Halifax Road near Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, just after 23:30 on 3 March 2026. The following day, Manchester Magistrates' Court imposed a £660 fine and six penalty points after his Mercedes was clocked at 49mph in a 30mph zone on the A670 Mossley Road near Ashton-under-Lyne in November 2025, for which he was prosecuted for failing to respond to police correspondence.
Scholes was convicted in his absence at both hearings, having entered no pleas. Fines, costs, and surcharges across both cases totalled £1,472.
