Former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond has been fined £999 and given seven penalty points after pleading guilty to two speeding charges committed in Herefordshire within three weeks in late 2025.
Hammond was clocked at 68mph in a 50mph zone while driving a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo on the A40 at Pencraig on 2 December 2025, and at 82mph in a 70mph zone in a Bentley Continental GT on the A50 Rudhall Overbridge on 22 December 2025. Magistrate Ann Minton ordered him to pay a total of £1,771, comprising fines of £333 and £666, court costs, and victim surcharges. Two additional charges of ignoring police letters were withdrawn.
West Mercia Police spent weeks tracking Hammond down after tickets sent to a Grade II*-listed castle and a farm were returned. He was convicted via the Single Justice Procedure on 22 July 2026, having ultimately been located at a property near Abergavenny, Wales.
