Lynda La Plante has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined £3,330 after pleading guilty to breaking the 20mph speed limit five times between November 2025 and April 2026.
The court heard La Plante already carried nine points on her licence from three prior speeding offences, committed in June 2023 and in June and July 2025. Her total points rose to 24 following the latest convictions. In addition to the fine, she was ordered to pay £130 in costs and a £1,332 victim surcharge.
La Plante's lawyer Nick Freeman urged magistrates to spare her a driving ban, but magistrate Mandy Lamplough ruled that she had not proven exceptional hardship, leaving the disqualification in place.
