EastEnders actor Shane Richie has been charged with drink-driving following an incident at a Tesco petrol station in Harlow, Essex, late Wednesday.
Essex Police were called to the Church Langley Way area shortly before 23:20 BST after staff challenged Richie, 62, about using an e-cigarette on the forecourt. Police confirmed the arrest and subsequent charge.
Richie, whose real name is Shane Roche and who lives in Tadworth, Surrey, is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates' Court on 9 September. He has played Alfie Moon in the BBC soap opera since first appearing in 2002.
