Motorcyclist in his 40s dies after collision with car in Co Carlow

A motorcyclist in his 40s has died following a collision with a car on Sunday morning in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, Ireland.

The crash occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on the R448 at Ballyknockan. The man was airlifted to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, where he was later pronounced dead. The coroner has been notified, and the road was closed for forensic examination before reopening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were travelling on the R448 between 8:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on 2 August to come forward. Road users with dash cam or mobile phone footage from the area have been asked to make it available to investigators.
