Manchester United have completed the signing of Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton in a deal worth up to £70 million, after the clubs neared agreement earlier this week.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of a further year. United paid a guaranteed £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons, with Brighton retaining a sell-on clause. The transfer takes United's summer spending to £153 million.
Baleba, who made 112 appearances for Brighton after joining from Lille in 2023, remains sidelined with an ankle injury sustained during Brighton's pre-season camp in Austria and could return by mid-September, potentially in time for the Manchester derby on September 13.
