Luka Modrić has signed a one-year contract extension with AC Milan, keeping him at the club through June 30, 2027. The deal was finalised on Thursday, the club announced.
The 40-year-old Croatian midfielder scored twice in 37 appearances for Milan during the 2025-26 campaign as the team finished fifth in Serie A, missing out on Champions League qualification. Modrić acknowledged the disappointment, saying the desire to bounce back after a below-expectations season is immense.
Modrić joined Milan in 2025 following a 13-year spell at Real Madrid, where he won six Champions League titles. He recently competed in his fifth World Cup, though Croatia were eliminated by Portugal in the round of 32. Milan appointed Ruben Amorim as head coach in June, replacing Massimiliano Allegri.
