Croatia have reappointed Slaven Bilic as manager of their men's national team, marking a return for the 57-year-old who previously led the side from 2006 to 2012.
The Croatian Football Federation announced the decision on Sunday, following a unanimous board vote. Bilic replaces Zlatko Dalic, who stepped down after Croatia's World Cup last-32 exit to Portugal. Bilic, a former defender who helped Croatia finish third at their inaugural 1998 World Cup, most recently managed Saudi club Al-Fateh during the 2023-2024 season. He has also previously managed clubs including West Ham United.
This is Bilic's second spell as Croatia head coach, tasked with rebuilding a squad transitioning from its recent golden generation.
