An 18-year-old man from Aachen, Germany, died in a road cycling accident in the Austrian state of Tyrol on Monday afternoon. The teenager was riding alone on the Brandenberger Straße, a regional road in Kramsach, when he lost control on a downhill section and, despite braking, struck a rock face on a curve.

A passing motorist found the cyclist lying severely injured on the road, administered first aid and alerted emergency services. The young man, however, died at the scene before rescue crews could transport him to a hospital.
