Eintracht Frankfurt endured a devastating 7-0 friendly defeat against English Premier League side Brentford on Saturday, prompting head coach Adi Hütter to label the display unacceptable for any match, even a preseason fixture.
Brentford's Kevin Schade opened the scoring in the second minute and added a second in the 70th, while Igor Thiago, Mamadou Sangaré, Dango Ouattara, and Keane Lewis-Porter also found the net in a one-sided affair. The result has increased pressure on Hütter ahead of the competitive season. Compounding Frankfurt's troubles, defender Robin Koch left the pitch early after sustaining a mild concussion.
Frankfurt now turn their attention to the DFB-Pokal, where they face SC St. Tönis on 22 August, before opening their Bundesliga campaign against Union Berlin on 29 August.
