Tottenham Hotspur defeated 1899 Hoffenheim 3-0 in a pre-season friendly in London on Friday, with Richarlison opening the scoring in the 35th minute before teenager Mikey Moore added a second-half brace. Hoffenheim manager Christian Ilzer replaced nearly his entire starting lineup at the break as Spurs used the match as their final tune-up ahead of the new campaign.
The two sides met again the following day in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Tottenham's training ground that ended 2-2. Ben Davies headed an early equaliser for the hosts, and Valentin Gendrey volleyed Hoffenheim into a second-half lead before the match finished level. James Maddison featured for 45 minutes in his first pre-season appearance, while Mateus Fernandes played the full 90 minutes.
