Borussia Dortmund welcome Bayern Munich to a sold-out Signal Iduna Park on Saturday for the 10th Supercup meeting between the German rivals, with Bayern holding a narrow 5-4 edge in the fixture's history. Dortmund are chasing their first trophy since lifting the 2021 DFB-Pokal, having finished a distant second to Bayern last season.

Dortmund's squad has undergone significant change: Julian Brandt, Karim Adeyemi and Niklas Süle have all departed, while the club saved a double-digit million sum on squad costs according to sporting director Lars Ricken, who called the match a title opportunity in front of home fans. New arrivals from South America and Europe, including teenagers Kaua Prates, Justin Lerma and Konstantinos Karetsas, are expected to bolster the rebuilt side.

Dortmund coach Niko Kovac cautioned that neither side knows where they stand so early in the season, while Bayern's Vincent Kompany described the match simply as a final. Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala, and Dortmund's Carney Chukwuemeka is doubtful.
