PSG and Aston Villa meet in Super Cup as dressing room dispute resolved

· Sports FRAGBRAUT

Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa will contest the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday at Salzburg's Red Bull Arena, pitting the reigning European champions against a Villa side appearing in their first Super Cup since 1982.

Luis Enrique acknowledged PSG enter as favourites but cautioned that such assessments remain merely theoretical, noting several squad members only recently returned from World Cup duty. Villa, who ended a 30-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League, will be without Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Martinez, and Ezri Konsa. Manager Unai Emery has framed the match as an opportunity to compete for silverware in a new era for the club.

Off the pitch, UEFA allocated PSG an additional dressing room after the club complained their assigned space was too small. PSG have travelled with a 20-man squad that includes recent signing Lucas Digne.
