The Vuelta a España opens Saturday with a time trial in Monaco, fielding rosters heavy with Danish talent and returning contenders. Tadej Pogacar enters as the race's overwhelming favorite, while four-time champion Primoz Roglic leads Red Bull's general classification ambitions alongside Frederik Wandahl, who is set for his Grand Tour debut.

Lidl-Trek confirmed its lineup around Mads Pedersen and Mattias Skjelmose, who finished fifth overall in last year's Vuelta. The squad also includes Thibau Nys, making his Vuelta debut after an infection and knee surgery delayed his season, and Mathias Norsgaard, who returns to Grand Tour racing after withdrawing from the 2022 Vuelta with Covid-19.

Uno-X Mobility selected Simon Dalby for his Grand Tour debut less than a year after he suffered two blood clots. Magnus Cort will ride what is billed as the final Grand Tour of his career.
