Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has signed a new long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2031, the Premier League side announced Monday night.
The Netherlands centre-back, who joined from Wolfsburg in 2023, was instrumental as Spurs won the 2025 Europa League and captained the side during the final six matches of last season as they avoided Premier League relegation. Manager Roberto de Zerbi, appointed in March, called Van de Ven one of the best centre-backs in Europe. Van de Ven is the fourth senior player to commit his future this summer, following Ben Davies, Pedro Porro and Antonin Kinsky.
The extension comes as Cristian Romero is widely expected to depart, with Atletico Madrid negotiations reportedly under way. Tottenham open their Premier League campaign at Brentford on 22 August.
