U.S. forces struck bridges, an airport and a railway junction across southern and southeastern Iran in a sixth consecutive night of airstrikes, killing at least two people and wounding more than a dozen, Iranian state television reported.
Two people were killed and four wounded when airstrikes hit two bridges in Hormozgan province, while two others were injured at a rail junction in Bandar Abbas, the port city that hosts an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps base. At least one projectile struck Iranshahr airport in Sistan-Baluchistan province. The U.S. military also destroyed a maritime surveillance tower the IRGC had used for decades to track shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and targeted bridges to cut supply routes to an Iranian naval base.
The U.S. Central Command said the latest wave aimed to degrade Iran's military capabilities. Iran retaliated with strikes against targets in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Syria, Iraq and Jordan, bringing the reported death toll from U.S. strikes this month to 38, according to Iranian officials.
