Two bodies found in Augsburg asylum shelter, 29-year-old suspect arrested

German police have arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of double manslaughter after two bodies were discovered in an asylum shelter in the Haunstetten-Siebenbrunn district of Augsburg.

The suspect, who holds both Syrian and Saudi Arabian nationality, was taken into provisional custody following the discovery. The victims have been identified as a 39-year-old man with Syrian and Saudi citizenship and a 54-year-old Iraqi national.

Investigators are treating the case as a double homicide. Authorities have not released further details on the circumstances of the deaths or a possible motive. The investigation is ongoing.
