Tim Merlier wins seventh stage of Tour de France in Bordeaux sprint

· Sports FRABEL

Tim Merlier claimed his fourth career Tour de France stage victory, winning a mass sprint to close out the 175-kilometre seventh stage from Hagetmau to Bordeaux. The Soudal-Quick Step rider edged out Soren Waerenskjold and Biniam Girmay at the line, with Jasper Philipsen finishing fifth.

The result left the general classification unchanged at the top. Tadej Pogacar retained the yellow jersey with a 2-minute-42-second lead over Jonas Vingegaard, while Isaac del Toro sits third overall, 3:27 back.

Merlier's victory in Bordeaux reinforced his status as one of the race's leading sprinters, while Pogacar's grip on the overall standings remained firm heading into the second week of the 2026 Tour.
