Andrew and Tristan Tate exaggerated their wealth by renting supercars and promoting a superyacht they did not own to manufacture an image of extreme affluence, court documents have revealed.
The brothers' lawyers acknowledged that Bugatti and Aston Martin vehicles worth $14 million were rented for a video, while a $50 million superyacht belonged to another party who paid the Tates to promote it. Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, have been held at a federal detention centre in Miami since their arrest on 18 July, awaiting extradition to Britain.
British prosecutors have brought 38 new charges against the dual British-American citizens, including rape and sex trafficking offences, bringing the total to 59 counts spanning alleged crimes between July 2010 and August 2017. The Crown Prosecution Service said the case involves seven alleged victims.
