The Crown Prosecution Service has unveiled 38 new charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate, bringing the total to 59 counts including rape, sex trafficking and offences relating to indecent images of a child. The new allegations involve four additional accusers and span from 2010 to 2017, adding to earlier charges concerning three other accusers between 2012 and 2015.
The brothers, arrested in Miami in July, have been held at the Federal Detention Center since. Prosecutors argued in a Monday court filing that the Tates pose a flight risk and danger to the community. A detention hearing scheduled for Thursday will determine whether they remain jailed during extradition proceedings.
The UK has until mid-September to submit evidence to the State Department supporting its extradition request. The brothers, who moved to Romania in 2016, are fighting their return to Britain.
