South African authorities have arrested Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma in Johannesburg, the man sought by British police for the killings of his wife and two daughters at their home in Bedfordshire, England.
Tshuma, 45, was detained on July 10 in the Kensington district of Johannesburg. The bodies of his wife Zandile, 42, and their daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were discovered at the family home in Great Denham on July 6. Tshuma had left Britain two days earlier, traveling via Zimbabwe to South Africa.
He is due to appear before a Johannesburg court on July 13. Bedfordshire Police said work is under way to return him to the UK. His extradition is expected to be formalized once South African Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi signs the necessary documents, according to reports that he will be handed over to British authorities.
