Irish police believe the prime suspect in the murder of Jamey Carney fled the country within hours of the killing, boarding a flight from Dublin Airport to Istanbul late on 7 July 2026.
Carney, 43, was beaten to death in her bedroom at a home on Muckross Road in Killarney late on 6 July. Her body was discovered the following morning. The suspect, a Middle Eastern asylum seeker who has been in Ireland since mid-2024, took a bus from Killarney to Dublin at around 3:30am on 7 July before departing from the airport.
Gardaí have contacted Interpol and Europol as they work with international law enforcement partners to trace the man, who is originally from the Middle East. Investigators are appealing for camera footage from the Muckross Road area between 11pm on 6 July and 5am on 7 July.
