Sergio Busquets has joined the coaching staff of Barça Atlètic, Barcelona's reserve side, returning to the club three years after ending his playing career with the first team. The 38-year-old will serve as assistant to head coach Juliano Belletti in Spain's Primera RFEF and attended his first training session on Monday at the club's training complex.
Busquets spent 15 seasons with Barcelona's first team, making 722 appearances — the third-most in club history behind only Lionel Messi and Xavi. He won 32 trophies with the club, including nine La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues and seven Copa del Rey crowns, having broken into the squad under Pep Guardiola in 2008-09.
He departed for Inter Miami in 2023, where he played alongside Messi, Jordi Alba and Luis Suárez before retiring at the end of 2025 following an MLS title. Busquets also won the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 with Spain.
