Possible human remains were discovered on Thursday in the Tarn department of southern France at a location indicated by Cédric Jubillar, who authorities say led investigators to the site where he claimed to have disposed of his wife's body. The bones were found approximately 10 kilometres from Cagnac-les-Mines, in an area Jubillar had pointed to as the resting place of Delphine Jubillar.
The search operation was launched on 16 July 2026, the day after Jubillar acknowledged responsibility for the death of Delphine Aussaguel during a hearing on 15 July, according to judicial sources. He had told investigators he could guide them to the body's location.
Jubillar was sentenced to 30 years in prison in October 2025 for the case stemming from Delphine Jubillar's disappearance. Forensic analysis is pending to determine whether the remains match those of his wife.
