Portugal's secondary school students received their second-phase national exam results and first-phase review outcomes on Friday, ending weeks of disruption caused by the country's first fully digital grading system.
The Ministry of Education acknowledged that more than 20,000 review requests — over triple last year's figure — contributed to the delays. Technical failures in the new electronic marking process had already pushed first-phase results to July 17, with grades posted only late that evening. The second phase, held July 21–24, proceeded more smoothly after corrections to the digital system.
Schools began posting results Friday morning and can now send students digitized copies of their graded exams, a measure the government says enhances transparency. Students have three days to submit or amend applications for the first round of university admissions. A special exam session is scheduled for September 3–8 for those still needing to resolve their standings.
